What is hypnosis? When thinking of hypnosis, many people think of mysterious and dangerous manipulation of the mind, some believe it doesn’t exist, and it’s bad (an interesting set of beliefs.) while some envision a Freudian type office with serious therapist swinging a watch in front of the client’s eyes. Some think it is mind control that “makes” people do stuff they don’t want to do. Most religious systems warn people of its dangers, only to hypnotize their flock into their point of view.
NLP is the most powerful methodology in Applied Psychology. It is powerful because it gives us a strategic model to make changes at the level of human subjective experience. It equips us with the process to disassemble any human problem into its inherent elements, and break down the strategy a client uses to create a problem. Equipped with this understanding we are in a position to help the client strategically construct a new experience. I call this process the NLP Method.
Many people feel stuck in their lives and blame their stuck state on something external to them that “causes” them to feel stuck. That something can be arbitrary, such as “unhappy childhood”, an “unpleasant event”, a sense of incapability or any other “obstacle” that is seen as external to oneself. It feels bad and it feels real. It is so real sometimes that the entire moment right now is defined by the block.
